Electric Superbike Twente is a student racing team designing and building a fully electric motorcycle from scratch. Every year a new team of students with fresh ideas takes over, eager to continue the mission.
The battery pack of Electric Superbike Twente’s 5th motorbike design contains more than 1,500 cells. To connect these together, they have designed a new interconnection system. With this, they significantly reduce the number of screws and thus the time it takes to connect everything together. To do this, they need several small aluminium parts water cut by Resato Waterjet Technology. To conduct power as efficiently as possible, the surface finish needs to be as precise as possible. For this reason, they chose water cutting, which is considerably more accurate than laser cutting.
