Resato Waterjet supports Arte Responsible Stone Foundation

Assen, 27 November 2025,

Resato Waterjet Technology has made a donation to the Arte Responsible Stone Foundation, a foundation dedicated to ending child labour in the stone sector in India.

The foundation was established by Niels van den Beucken, director of Arte, following the Arte Right To Education project. During a trip to South India, Niels was confronted with the dire living and working conditions of families living around granite quarries, where children were working instead of going to school. This led to the establishment of the Arte Responsible Stone Foundation, which works with local partners to create Child Labour Free Zones. This gives children the opportunity to attend school and supports families in providing for their livelihoods. Partly because Arte is a family business that thinks about future generations, it is expected that the fight against child labour will continue for many years to come.

“I am very proud that we have customers who not only strive for profitability but also consider their impact on the world. With the initiative taken by Arte, they are doing their bit to create a better world in places where the population is currently less well off than we are in the Netherlands. In the words of Arte: not just taking (natural stone), but also giving something back,‘ says Jan Henk Wijma, Managing Director at Resato Waterjet Technology. ’At Resato Waterjet, we are happy to support this initiative because we also consider Corporate Social Responsibility to be important.”

With this contribution, Resato Waterjet Technology supports the foundation in offering more children the opportunity to go to school and in bringing about structural changes in communities.
