On 1 April 2025, the official handover of Resato’s latest waterjet cutting machine to the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s Logistic Centre Woensdrecht, location Dongen, took place. This machine, fully developed and produced in the Netherlands, will play an important role in increasing the combat power of the Dutch defence forces<\/span><\/p>

Innovation and precision<\/span><\/h2>

The waterjet cutter will enable 982 Squadron, responsible for technology and mission support, to operate with more precision and less waste. This is crucial given the challenges currently facing defence and the Royal Air Force, especially the difficulty of recruiting sufficient personnel. Within Logistic Centre Woensdrecht, and more specifically at squadron 982 in Dongen, very high-quality products are developed and produced, for example in the field of communications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Versatility and efficiency<\/span><\/h2>

\"\"<\/span><\/p>

With this machine, the 982 Squadron team can now machine different materials, from different metals, plastics to special composites or even reinforced concrete, with high precision. Versatility is very important for Squadron 982, as it works with many different raw materials. Not only modern materials that are expensive and scarce, but also older systems are maintained here with more traditional materials.<\/span><\/p>

Moreover, as the products can be nested very easily and efficiently, virtually no waste is produced. The user-friendly and versatile control software is of great value here. Operators can perform any actions required or request information on maintenance tasks on the console. After the machine is set up, it runs unmanned, because of the good automation and safeguards in the Resato Waterjet cutting machine. This is a great advantage in the current situation within squadron 982, as there is a large amount of work coming to the LCW and it is difficult to attract sufficient and well-qualified personnel.<\/span><\/p>

Second Delivery to Defence<\/span><\/h2>

In 2021, Resato Waterjet Technology B.V. has already installed a waterjet cutting machine at the Mechanical Central Workshop of the Army, also known as the Tank Workshop. This second delivery to the Woensdrecht Logistics Centre confirms our reliability and commitment to the Dutch defence.<\/span><\/p>

We were very hospitably received by the commander of the Woensdrecht Logistics Centre. The project team, through Marijn Prince and Rob Raaijmakers, expressed their great satisfaction with the preparation, support and strict planning during delivery and training and installation of the machine. The machine is already running well and without any problems, which is a huge improvement for Logistic Centre Woensdrecht.<\/span><\/p>
